FOOTBALI. 1985 The season began August 25 with an all-day bus trip to Field Springs State Park where we held football Camp against a back drop of some of the west's most beautiful scenery and unspoiled wilderness. The season ended a week before Thanksgixing on the snow-covered frozen turf of Tiger Stadium in a 2-0 loss against the Adna Pirates. ln between those two trips, the youngest-ever Logger team continued the Never Say Die spirit that has become a tradition here at Onalaska as they won the mini-play-offs for a third place league finish and another trip to the state play- offs. Ilistory was made in the first round as the Loggers defeated the Pacific League and undefeated champs, the Willapa Valley Vikings, who boasted a ffl state rating. Score 14'1-I2FWe wish our graduating Seniors the best of everything and the returning squad members promise more in H6 . Coach Ed Simons With one ofthe youngest teams every in the history of Onalaska this year's team did a remarkable job. We were struck with more injuries and adversities than every before. All of these factors did not stop a determined Onalaska Logger football team in making it to the second round of the state play-offs. The lirst time in doing so in our school's history. With a host oftalent returning next year, we feel with all our hearts that this could he the year we win it Al.I,? Coach Frazier Asst. Coach Harris and Asst.
