1 5 1 X 0 7954 5 'I 1955 A710 ,B Fourth row D Urrch A McGee jones C Ede J Nenrmg B Glaze E Murphy L Hartman I Clark J Nehring E Rosenkrlde 3rd row J George I Poltz L Hedgers R Macomber R Smalley D Hamilton C Wilson K Young D Hamilton D Allen Glaze 2nd row Mr Meyers D Temple T Reichert M Nelson G Peterson G Andrews J Roberts R Hxte Murphy H Matthteson C Smith 'Ist row D Stldham J Powell F Hartman L Jacobsen D Abslnre S Schmidt E Kalnoski I Belongla D Hlldeshelm L Clark F F A INCREASES ACTIVITIES FOR SUCCESSFUL YEAR 1954 5 has been another very successful year for our local F F A Chapter For the second year the award of Master Chapter was presented to us According to the State records, this makes us one of the 42 outstanding chapters in the State to receive this award and the only chapter in which a mem ber was awarded the Star State Dairy Farming Award, which was given to Dean Hamilton at the State F F A Convention in March The Future Farmer judging Team made a fine record byplacing 3rd in sweepstakes at the S W Wash- ington Fair 2nd in dairy judging at the same fair, and received a 2nd place banner at Puyallup in dairy ludgmg In the contests which they entered this year only once did they fall below 9th place Another chapter activity to be initiated this year is a pest eradication contest The boys bring in a part of each pest or preditor they catch and points are awarded for it At the end of the year the points will be totaled and the three boys who have the most points will be given prizes The F .F A officers formed a parliamentary team and entered the Sub District Contest They placed lst in this contest and 4th in the District Contest This year we had a public speaker Richard Hite Richard placed 2nd in the Sub District Contest and went on to place 3rd in the District Contest Fifty thnee percent of the chapter membership exhibited at the Southwest Washington Fair this year They exhibited poultry, swine vegetables sheep farm machinery, beef and dairy cattle Eddie Kalnoski was champion Guernsey showman and 3rd high showman for all breeds in the F FXA division and Hans Matthiesen was champion swine showman This page sponsored by: NORTHWEST LUMBER 8m MILLWORK COMPANY If Its Made of Wood - - We Can Build It Route 2, Box 67-B Geo.
