The F.F.A. organization has been quite active this year and has sponsored several projects for raising money for payments on the Ford tractor which was pruchased last year. Dances were given, ice cream sold during the noon hours and after school and at games and several pruning, plowing and mowing jobs completed in the community. E.V9H.t Place No. of Teams Judging Grays Harbor 3rd tBannerj 15 Southwest Washington Fair 4th 30 Cowlitz County 4th 20 Western Washington Fair 18th 65 Carnation 5th Qiaannery 45 P.I.L.E. 16th 70 The above is the record of the judging team, whose members are proud of the re- cordwhich they set in their activities even though no first places were earned. Competi- tion was stiff and congratulations are due the members, Dale Willis, Tom Burchett, LeRoy Runyon, Bill Willis, Cliff Johnson, Victor Schuttie and Leroy Badger. Leroy. Runyon and Dwain Jenkins, both from the Sophomore class, entered Aberdeen Angus steers in the competitive judging at the Livestock Show in Auburn April 5, 6 and 7 this spring and many of the boys enrolled in Agriculture classes have earned extra credits with projects. Bill Willis was the representative chosen from the local F.F.A. chapter to attend the state convention in Pullman during the week-end of March 24th. Bill was a junior this year and this is the first time our school representative has not been from the senior class. It was felt that a junior might be able to being back many ideas which could be used to strengthen the local chapter and his leadership would be valuable next year. The officers for this year were Dale Willis, President, Bill Willis, Vice-Presi- dentg Bill Chappell, Secretary, Cliff Johnson, Treasurer, John Jacka, Sgt. -at-Arms, Dick Rambo, Reporter, Mr. Newfield, Advisor. The 1950 track team has increased slightly since last year, and now the team members are: Tom Girard, Jackie Rice, Buddie Newton, Jim Bowen, James Darrin and Paul Sheldon. Tom Girard and Jackie Rice were Lewis County champs last year with Girard running the half mile in 2:09 and Rice running the mile in 4:46. The schedule for this year is: March 30th - April 29th - Raymond, Valley, Onalaska, Chehalis at Chehalis Longeview Relays April 11th - May 6th - At Centralia Sub-district in Centralia April 15th - May 13th - Centralia Relays District at Olympia April 18th - May 19-20th - Kelso, Onalaska, Chehalis at Chehalis State at Pullman All the boys on the team hope to win for Onalaska and also to encourage other to join the team.
