No one deserves the honor more. Our annual would not be the success it is today had it not been for you. Your unfailing willingness to help us, your school spirit, and kindness are hard to beat. We know the many plans you relinquished to make our annual such a great accomplishment each year. The Senior Class owes a great deal of gratitude to you, and we will never forget you. Penny Golm, Editor, Mary Lou Jerrow, Business Manager. ,V kv ,,z N Although people may not realize it, constructing the annual is a very difficult job. Each night after school the staff gathers in Mr. Lemieux's room to work on it. There are pictures to take, cut, and fit to the pagesg write- ups to compose, pages to be re- made, and deadlines to meet. This ye-ar's staff was very co- operative, thus we were able to produce a very fine yearbook. We hope each of you enjoys it, since much time and work has been spent in its making. We students appreciate the work he is doing for us, and we hope he will remain with us in the future. Mrs. Minnieh is always busy with her job of giving medical aid to the elementary and senior high school students of the Omak sys- tem. Besides this, she also gives health tests We hope that her winning smile and wonder - ful personality will ever grace our halls. In the past three years that Mrs. Taylor has been with us, We have grown to rely heavily up on her. It is her duty to keep the sehool ree- ords and to take care of the school supplies. Seuiar Elass Officers President, Bob Ulrichg Vice-President, Dave Browng Secretary, Gene Pitts, Treasurer, David Phelps After a long, hard climb, we can see the last rung of our high school ladder coming into view. The climb has not been all work, however, for our many activities have made these past years pass more quickly, and they certainly have made the years more enjoy- able. We started at the bottom as sophomores, determined to be known as an outstanding class. Our Sophomore Hop, the Moon- light Gambler, did not dampen our spirits. And our bulldog was the best! Our participation in the various clubs and sports will be hard to surpass. As Juniors, we made great progress in our climb toward the top for our diplomas. Our Prom theme Red Sails in the Sun- set set the scene for a spectacular success. The End , our Senior Ball theme, expressed our feelings quite adequately--at last we were nearing the end of our high school career. With a remote twinge of sadness, we look down the steps we have just masteredg and on each rung lies a memory of each of our twelve wonderful years, always to remain in our thoughts no matter how far we wander. In one more year we shall have reached the goal--our graduation. Until then, We continue to establish ours as a class long to be remembered at Omak High School. We are proud of our year as sophomores. A great many of the boys earned their letters, and the girls built one of the biggest bulldogs Omak has ever seen. We showed our school spirit even more by our hard work to become members of the clubs and organizations. With spring came the flowers and, of course, our Sophomore Hop. Lollipop was the themeg the music was furnished by a local band. The decorations were lovely, the band was very good, and everyone had a wonderful time. As juniors, we continue to strive for recognition. The boys have worked very hard in sports and the girls, especially those in Pep Club, have done their part well, too. The Classidf 1960 has many representatives in Honor Society, 10012, Club, F. T.A, , Auto Club, Letterman's Club, Pep Club, and on the newspaper staff. On Workday this year our class did very well. Everyone worked hard, and the result was a terrific increase in the bank book. This year the whole high school celebrated moving into the new building with a Dress-up Day . The members of the student body wore their best, and we juniors felt just as proud as anyone. Our Junior Prom left us much to be proud ofg everything about it was delightful, and everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously. Yes, we are the Juniors, and when our joal is reached, we hope that Omak High School will long remember us. When our class entered school last fall, we were determined to make a success of our first year in high school. We already have many reasons to be proud. A great deal of enthusiasm was shown by the entire class when we turned in over two hundred dollars on Workday. Our class built the most hilarious-looking bulldog Omak has ever seen. We are very proud of the fact that this was the first time in the history of Omak High School that so many boys have A-lettered in football in their sophomore year. Besides being active in football, the boys also took part in basketball, track, baseball, and minor sports. Other class members worked hard to enter clubs and various school activities. With our successful sophomore year behind us, we hope to make the next two years outstanding ones for the Class of 1961. YODER DAIRY ROYALTY: Princess Jane Hopfer, Queen Louise Brown, King Ben Hull, Prince Claude Gove. CROWNING COMMITTEE: Bob Gentry, Andie Hallenius. junior Prom April 19, 1958, the Class of '59 held its annual Junior Prom. The theme was Red Sails in the Sun- set . The walls were adorned with sailboats of red and silver. Due to a mechanical breakdown outside of Spokane, the band failed to appear for the sched- uled engagement. Everyone scurried to and fro to hunt for another band. Mr. Calahan supplied us with an evening of music. Even with all of our troub- les, the prom seemed to be a big success, and a good time was had by all. .
