On Reaching Your Goal ONGRATULATIONS, graduates of the June class of 1953! The facts disclose that only one out of every two pupils of your age who should have graduated from high school this June has reached the goal. Why have you suc- ceeded and others failed? The answer lies primarily in your own personality. As you traveled along the four-year high school stretch on the highway of life, the traffic lights shone green because you, and others who are interested in you, your parents, your teachers, and friends, put forth effort to keep the way open. There were a few times when others carried more of the burden than you did. Among those who have failed to reach this milestone, however, are many who have thought to rely almost entirely on others. Theirs was a foolish view, they are left behind. Now as graduates, you leave Technical High School to continue along the highway of life.
