' lts always like this in Miss Southwell s study hall Mr Severyn poses with his soohamar s Tomorrows assignment is 4 bend pivot po nt toes A are familiar wor the students of girls physical edu cation instructor Mrs uth eely Mrs Seely has charge o all the s gym clas es plus a class senior dancing The Fall Follies and Aurora wouldn t be complete with out Mrs Seelys dances At one time she was a professional dancer She was very busy this year perfect ing acts for the Youth Spectocu lar held at the Civic Auditorium April I2 She is also sponsor of the pep clubs Mrs Seely spends many hours making Norths cheerleading sauod one of the best in the city Youll have to move says Ch rles E Severyn who patrols the ls after school Mr Severyn has the ability to tell someone to do something they dont want to and have them like it His kindly smile is constantly showing as he tries to explain the fundamentals of al gebra and geometry to confused students As an extra assignment for his classes Mr Severyn tells them Be pleasant the world likes you that way Mr Severyn attend ed Fremont college the Univer sity of Nebraska Creighton uni versity and the University of Oma Co sponsor of FTA Mrs Goldie Silverman is interested in producing more and better teachers She has been an instructor in the English department for the post two years Attending Smith college and the University of Nebraska and the University of Omaha Mrs Silver man has received her bachelor of arts degree She likes to spend her leisure hours listening to music and reading. Experlmenting in crafts of all sorts is another of her favorite activities, A great love for books and for young people encouraged Mrs. Elma Simpson to become a librarian. Keeping the Viking libraries effi- cient and properly supplied has been her job for I2 years. She helps in promoting a National Book Week celebration. She received her bachelor of library science degree from Columbia university, Besides reading, she enioys live theater and traveling. Mrs. Simps -is fond of the out-of-doors. e especially lovestcamping at? biking in the moun ains. ,ii z ,LV 41 f L Always ready to tell a poke or make a quick comeback for one Harvey A Smith will long be remembered by students for his sens of humor This mathematics teacher can I ways be found in the center of a rawd of laughing students before school Mr Smith is very active in the Masonic Lodge He attended high school in Beemer and West Point Mr Smith received his AB from Nebraska Wesleyan and his M A from the University of Nebras Miss Fay Southwell poet in h own right installs o love ot po try literature and English in all of her students When her students learn wen t take her seriously whether she is ,oking she fast be omes a favorite Perhaps one of the most widely traveled teachers at North Miss Southwells travels include both Europe and South America Miss Southwell has at tended the University of Missouri N e b r a s k a Colorado Wisconsin Omaha and Creighton Stech s sense o umor will always ge emember by stu dents aid f cu y alike He is the man who has a comeback for every ra his pupils ma e M S ch h ught history classes rth fo five y ars and is the spa S hist ry club Special inter sts o Mr 'Ste include Ex por Sco t work HO mo el trains and e A ni chapter o his fraternity Alpha Phi Omega Mr. Stech attended Omaha univer- sity and the University of Wiscon- sin, l-le holds a bachelor of arts de- gree. The man with the hacksaw alias Keith W. Stewart. Mr. Stewart, head of the locker committee, is often seen sawing the lock off some un- fortunate student's locker. After teaching history at North for sev- en years, Mr. Stewart still says, Everything in my classes is un- usual.
