ww -:- ::-, i- - Kenneth B khol lc In i952 the vacancy created by Mr Burk Very seldom does a student find a person in a supervisory position to whom he can look for guidance when problems arise and yet with whom he can talk and joke with the greatest of ease. But such is the case with the principal of North High school, Kenneth Burkholder. Assuming the role of principal in l952 proved to be an easy adjustment for Mr. Burk- holder. He had been at North for 8 years and was already familiar with the school and many of the students by virtue of his job as assistant principal dean of boys and athletic director A great deal of our principal s time is spent eing that some l8OO schedules are satisfac tory to both student and teachers Sometimes through necessity but more of ten through choice Mr Burkholder s day does not end when school is out at 3 O3 He makes a sp cial effort to attend school functions and also to make an appearance at outside activi ties in which students participate He seems to enioy this part of his work for the principle reason that he says it is so much more gratifying to spend his time at worth while students activities than at s ssions of juvenile court holder s assumption of the principalship was Mark K Mums filled by Mark K Mullins Before coming to North Mr Mullins was the principal of Barr Junior High school in Grand Island Nebraska Athletic director dean of boys and junior boys counselor are other duties of our assist ant principal Although he has the duty of chief discipli narian at North Mr Mullins has many friends among the students A keen sense of humor and a cheerful smile are among the chief rea sons for his popularity A familiar sight at all footoall and basket ball games Mr Mullins enter into all student activities with equal enthusiasm He serves as Student Council advisor and in the past year has done much to bring to the attention of the students the many activities and services of the Student Council 141: , - , QXZALIVA, W A I ' V - t
