Carol Spackman ENGLISH LANGUAGES Wilford Bruderer Gayle Davies Judy Davis Linda Moreau Betty Morris Mary Neiman Being surrounded by such faces as Huckle- berry Finn, Hamlet, and even Caesar, the Oly student body plunged into a new Eng- lish department. The introduction of se- mester classes gave the student a fresh ap- proach to English studies. At the same time, just down the stairs, in fact, another approach took place. This time with foreign languages. Spanish. French. Latin, and Ger- man students spent the year not only learn- ing and memorizing the language but also gaining a greater appreciation of the coun- try they studied. Amid se- mester classes and lab-days, teachers and students explored the depths of their par- ticular question, whether it be the ingre- dients to electric Kool-Aid or an ulterior mo- tive to Calvin Butterball’s lovelife.
