STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT Because when a school claims to educate leaders, a true leader is by necessity a rare individual. But somewhere between the cam- paign slogans and cliche'd banners, a student body is faced with the choice of officers; bal- lots have been cast, counted, announcements have been made and applauded, and the new- ly elected are faced with the overwhelming task of planning a balanced, active school year. Stoically sprawled in a red leather chair in the new student body room, sleeping in Psychology, or lunching from a brown sack first period, Student Body President Richard Moore proved to have the leadership quality capable of molding 2,400 individuals into one united functioning body. Beginning the year with experiences gained at the Mill Hol- low Leadership Conference and Freedom Academy, Richard initiated the Council of Presidents of Granite School District, and in- stigated the Denver Exchange. Avidly con- cerned, responsive yet demanding, he be- came his own worst critic during the duration of his term. Not easily defeated, utterer of phrases that were unmistakeably Moore. Richard Moore—OHS President, 1968-1969. 24
