VICE-PRINCIPAL INTERN-PRINCIPAL Mr. Loren Burton Mr. Frank Heywood Again proving his immense capability and efficiency in carrying out the many and varied duties that are the Vice-Principal's, Mr. Hey- wood struck terror in the hearts of those who would escape the parking lot at noon, calmed irate parents, made sparkling morning announcements, and generally smoothed out the wrinkles that arose in every school day. Dad Heywood took the ribbing in assem- blies in stride and played a mean game of basketball. Being Dr. Larsen's right hand man is no easy job, but Mr. Heywood did it with his own special brand of humor and got the job done. He has become a tradition-a habit at Olympus. With a head full of fresh ideas, and concern for budget and the experimental eight period day, Mr. Burton survived his intern year at Olympus. His inquisitiveness impressed the administration and his tall, dark, handsome appearance endeared him to the female por- tion of the school. He was an avid athlete, whether on the basketball floor with Mr. Hey- wood or in the bleachers urging on the teams. He brought a unique personality and new per- spective to the administration of Olympus.

Whether setting up national merit workshops to promote scholastics, orsupporting atheletics by being a front row cheerer, Dr. Larsen tried to find an area in which each student could identify. A hero of diplomacy and a compro- miser while establishing acceptable standards of dress, he coordinated student—teacher in- terests. He was one of Olympus' most active participants and supporters of extra-curricular activities. Under the petrifying sounds of a deep booming voice, was a warm smile and an effective principal. Dr. Larsen—accepted as a person who liked to live young and who shared the ideals of Olympus.
