' Q Karl Lind, student body president of 1956, wasfvisiting various eastern colleges, when he was impressed by' the plaquesithat hung in these schools. Because they rep' resented traditional symbols of the colleges, Karl thought Olympus, too, should have a plaque. When he re- turned, after his trip, he discussed his idea with Byron Dansie and Edwin Fankhauser, first and second vice presidents. They presented their plans to the student council, who deliberated on them for two months be- fore they gave their approval.
