Fun In The Sun For those of us hopeless individuals who chose to let our minds vegetate for three absolutely glorious months, the arrival of that little letter addressed, To the Parent or Guardian of . . . was a very rude awakening, I do not know what you think, but I have come to the conclusion that the thought of school ruined the summer. Just think about it. I do not know if I could handle not watching my soap operas. And summer just would not have been summer without the lake. After all, where else could you find so many people wearing so little? However, as exciting as the lake may have been, I thought the ultimate summer spot was Lakefair. The people, the parade and the activities combined to make it the social event of the summer. Although I vowed never to ride the Zipper again, I found myself magnetically drawn to the mass of bodies waiting in line. My hands clenched and my stomach churned in anticipation Cand terrorb because it was the same. I went on the ride, I got off, and then I threw up. Ah, the joys of summer . . . And then, the letter came. It effectively signaled the start of another school year and reminded me that summer would not last forever. Once again, con- tinual cramming, cafeteria food CCan you believe some people actually like it?J and those fun-filled, three-day vacations with Mr. Maguire would become the accepted way of life.
