GOVERNMENT Twice a month, Olympia High senators inet to discuss and act upon their mutual problems. These leaders. elected by and representing their lionieroonis, tried to see that each niem- her ol' the student body had an active part in deterinining school policy and legislation. They particttlaily strove to get better honiemoni participation and debate. Presiding over this year's senate was ASIS Vice President Ray Cairncross. Don Fiser, ASB President, frequently led senate discussion on important issues. Notably this group supported the continuation ol' the foreign exchange student program, secured 21 long desired apple vending machine for the school cafeteria, helped sponsor the NFL District Debate Tournament, and re-emphasized the importance of student self-control.
