'l'his year concludes your sixteenth year of teaching here. Having attended both the Central YVashington Col- lege of Education and the University of VVashington, you received a B.A. in education, with majors in history and economics. You are also an Alpha Tau Omega. As head of the social science department you have taught many students Washington state history or socio- economics. Serving on the faculty ticket squad and the guidance committee add to your list of duties. Your interests outside school include sports, reading, and flowers. The latter hobby consists of collection of rhododendrons and several thousand azalea plants which you have pollenized and cross-pollenized. In this way, Mr. Cannon, the Olympiad staff says thank you for the services you have so faithfully given us during the last sixteen years. t

LEADING, GUIDING When a ship sails into a harbor or port, it is guided by a pilot to safety.
