PA Crew Serving the school by announcing at all athletic events, the PA crew also operates the office call system, relays communications to the gymnasium, auditorium, and at Stevens field. During the year members act as announcers for football games, basketball games and track meets. Crew chief this year was Dave lXloorehouse, and T. C. Cribble is crew adviser. Correspondence Club In l95li the Correspondence club of Olympia high school was really put on the map. As correspondents the members worked to promote good will in foreign coun- tries and to learn the customs of other people. The club put on an entertaining skit for the school as well as holding a successful banquet. Pins were issued for the first time in the history of the club. Alma Olson, adviser, contributed to the success of this year's Correspondcnce club. KO Knights of the Oyster serve at all sports events. Keeping the gymnasium floor clear of debris, preparing Stevens field for games and track meets, and caring for Pepper are a few of the club's 1na11y duties. Members spend long hours working to make athletic activities possible. Any boy with a C average is qualified to join this service organization. Faculty adviser for the club is Robert Summers. News Bureau Purpose of the Olympia high school News Bureau is to supply the Daily Olympian, Olympia News and KGY with on the spot news of what occurs at OHS. ln charge of the News Bureau this year was -lim Flynn, who was advised by Ernest Anderson. C P A To promote better accounting procedures and to inform student members on accounting is the aim of the Certified Public Accountants. This information prepares the members for future accounting jobs. The group is open to all students who have taken or are taking second year bookkeeping. Iunior Red Cross ln early November tht- llunior Red Cross conducts a lund drive to enable the local unit to carry on its projects. Some ol' the lunds are contributed directly to the National CIhildren's Fund to be used lor children's wellare throughout thc United States. Locally. the club has aided with the adult lund drive. made scrapbooks lor the shut-ins at Madigan hospital, has arranged for local talent programs to be taken there. and has con- tributed to the lntcrnational Cultural lfxchangse pro- gram. Miss Mary lfarrington is club adviser, Merchandising Club Merchandising club is open to any student enrolled in Merchandising I and 2. This year the club traveled to Pasco, XVashing'ton. lor a state merchandising' convention and won honors there lor their appearance and behavior. Hob XVick and XVayne llenning traveled to a national convention in St. Louis. Bob was elected state merchans dising' president and Xtlayne was appointed head ol various committees. Promoting a closer relationship with the students and the merchants ol' Olympia is the club purpose. XVayne Shollenberger acts as club adviser. Proiection Crew Members ol' the Projection crew are in charge ol ECH showing slides, liilm strips and sound movies in class- rooms and the auditorium. Films are obtained lrom yarious sources and are a hc-lp in yisual education. .-Xs 1 school projection club members, students plan to assist in organizing clubs in other 'llrurston county schools. Crew chiel' was Charles Beck and 'lf Cl. Gribble was laculty adviser. Library Assistants Many duties are performed by the student Library Assistants. They check corridor permits and punch li- brary cards, check out books, llllt books back on shelves and straighten books in the room. Members also run errands and deliver messages. lile cards, and answer questions about the location ol' books and on how to use the card catalogue. Purpose ol' this group is to be ol serrice to the school and to help the librarian keep the library running smoothly. Librarian is Michael P. Schuller. Secretarial Science Club Secretarial Science club stimulates interest in secre- tarial work and helps to develop better secretaries ol' tomorrow. .Xdvisers lor this group are Miss Agnes Bush- nell and Miss Mary Robertson.
