Principal Coming to Olympia high school has been the biggest thrill ot 'ny life How lucky can a man get? lna Bt len r iv JN Mt 'te nd Lelund P Brown Superinfendenfs During the next few years, one of the most important responsibilities of the Board of education and the administrative staff will be the planning and carrying out of our secondary school building program The conversion of Washington school to exclusive Junior high use the construction of the new Junior high on the west side and the b nlding of the high school industrial arts shop facilities on the Cloverfield site are the first steps in the program Later alterations and improvements to the present high school building and the construction of a com plete new high school at Cloverfield will be under taicen The appointment last summer of Willard l Matters to the administrative staff as Assistant super intendent of schools stated L P Brown Superin tendent of schools gives us a tremendous advan tage as we develop our building program and plan improvements in our curricular offerings to Junior and senior htgh school students School Board Planning and purchasing land for a Junior high school building on the west side has been the mam activity of the Olympia school board stated Mrs Mel Knox president of that body She continued to ay that their plans for the year include the con version of Washinaton school to exclusive use and the planning of building two new grade schools on the east side of town Assisting Mrs Knox on the school board are Virgil Adams secretary Darrell W lones vice president Oliver R Ingersoll T R lnahani and Henry Bolender members ln conclusion Mrs Knox stated When the one millior nine hundred dollar bond issue was passed last November it brought up a great deal of planning for the school board to do the entire y ar -fd-It --1 llltlllllllllllllllllltlll t ml f 'ure I ir ont s rs Jie ncx ngersc il . , , , X A , l ', l. 1. rs fr t . , ., A .
