ffgwta ublishing a school paper requires a great deal of effort and time- nlaking the assignments, gathering the news, writ- ing the stories, reading p r o o f s , planning the dunnnies and following through on the makeup work in the print shop. This is to say nothing of the preliminary in- struction necessary be- fore students can even begin their journalistic labors. The advertising staff must plan and lay out ads, take them to the merchants to sell, draw up copy, readf proofs, and make up the ad sections of the paper. To Helen Durbin, circulation manager, fell the lot of distribution of the paper. Exchanges to other schools were mailed out faithfully by -Ioan McCaslin, exchange editor, and her assistants, Gloria Haxton and Pat Powe. These girls also checked in hundreds of papers from other schools. The inexperienced Olympus staff put out nine editions of the paper during the school year under editorship of Bob Austin, Evelyn Bean and Merrilyn Raine, and with the guidance of Phil K. Erickson. adviser. Other members of the editorial staff were: -Ioan Fassett, assistant editor, military editor, and assistant librarian: Ida Jenkins, morgue director and librarian: Bill Mcllusker, feature editor: .leanne Henson, news editor and assistant feature editor. and Gust Angelos, sports editor. Reporters were: Don Eads, Dick Fuller, Evelyn Layton, Ida jenkins, qloyce McI.eod, Marilyn Muller, Maribeth Muller, Ann Bowler, Dave Dillon, Dave Hardy, Dan Iyall and Russell Milleson.
