O Rqou lcllie llwe ghiqlw Pocl 3, RADUATIONI The immediate goal of every senior. After four years of struggling upward, the class of '38 has reached the top. Looking back on his .sojourn in Olympia high, each senior sees the years in a different light. Some minds dwell on the athletic side of the picture, recalling the part their classmates have played on the field of sports. Football, basketball, track, baseball, tennis, golf-all pass before his retrospective gaze. Highlighted intother minds is the dramatic-the senior play, The Bishop Misbehavesf' the junior production, Growing Pains, and, before that, the sophomore and freshman assemblies. And still an' other ilk-the te1'psichoreans-remember the senior ball, the junior prom, the May dances and the many all-highs. Prominent, also, in the march of events before our mental review- ing stand is the senior Dress-up day, when juniors and underclassmen marveled at the comic antics and costumes of the revelers. On and on, ever onward--the parade of the past. And now, the biggest: show of the year-graduation! VVith the commencement and baccalaureate exercises, seniors, with a last long- ing, backward look, said good-bye to Olympia high school-their home for four inimitable years. Right, senior ojficers for 1937-38. Reading by rows, left to right: 1, Andrew Pashlcowslci and Hewitt Henry, presidents, and Robert Starkey, vice president, 2, Carolee Seagran, vice president,Zetta Havens and Mildred Cram, secretariesg 3, Bernice Brandt and Arlene Mather, treasurers, and Peggy Harris, girls' representative, 4, Dorothy Steere, girls' representative, Richard Yantis and Vernon Sholund, boys' repre- sentativesg 5, Richard Kanney and Philip Lambert, yell kings, and Miss Helen Chaney, adviser, 6, L. VV. Anderson, Miss Shirley Frazer and Robert Eccles, advisers. Past officers below, left to right, are Samuel Dinsmore, Richard Yantis, jack Hudson, Bernice Brandt, Zetta Havens, Ronald Bostwick, Victor Kelly, Bob Starkey and Betty Darling. Smartest in her class is Ruth Olson, left, who won valedictorian honors with 35 A's and 3 B's for a 97.02 percent average. Right: Margaret Wiseman, salu- tatorian, with an average of 96.79. , WX
