There is no office higher than that of a teacher of youth, for there is nothing on earth so precious as the mind, soul, char- acter of the child. No office should be regarded with greater respect. -William Ellery Channing

Building The Best At OJHS At Olson Jr. High, the 1983-84 school year was a time of building. Our students were building friendships, independence and confidence. Our faculty helped build our minds as our music department built talent and our athletic department built discipline. Being involved with Olson made everyone a better person. We learned to fully develop our various capacities and actualize our own potential. Our mascot, the Loki, provided a strong symbol for school spirit and splashes of red, black and white brought a special significance to all Norsemen. The students and staff built a better school and in return, Olson helped build the best in our community. Clad in school colors. Bonnie Peacock and Tracy Lane pull their outfits together through friendship. The east lawn provided a meeting place for these 8th graders while waiting for their buses. Between classes, ninth grader Lisa Raley shuffles through her locker in the A-wing.

New school halls to walk through. Locker combinations to memorize. Teachers to get to know, Schedules to try and understand. Best of all. new friends to be with. These are the things we“sevies have to get used to. - Thyme Thelen Teachers are people who give you your grades and decide if you pass or fail. They may be your enemy. they could be your friend. But they will always lead the way. -Kari Barron We owe a lot to Olson Jr. High. Without it we couldn’t get by. There are so many people in this school. Most are good and most are cool, -anonymous Does it excel above the others? Or stay equal with its brothers. Does it shine a happy glow? Or is it taken-up by the flow. Does it achieve more? Or do others tie the score. Olson is the best. It excels above the rest. It shines a happy glow, That you will always know. It will forever achieve more, Which you see when you are inside it’s doors. -Dana Anderson Student Artwork And Poetry
