Hubert G. Olson Superintendent Bloomington Public Schools 1943-1964 In addition to being a loyal friend and one of the nation’s best educators, Hubert Olson was a pioneer. He pioneered good suburban education, resolved its many problems, and has left his mark of ac- complishment. Few men have the opportunity to be leaders. Even fewer suc- ceed when given the chance. Mr. Olson was one of those persons of devotion and conviction whose services are vital to the strong public educational system so essential in our free society. He discharged his responsibilities well over a long period of years. In so doing he established his own lasting memorial. This is the test of the worth of a man — the eternal memories and thoughts of him in the minds of those who had most to gain.
