VICE-PRINCIPALS To the Class of June l9671 Left: Young people are largely on the getting side. ln your education you have received the gifts of centuries - mental and spiritual treasures from great authors, skills from me- chanical inventions, the gifts of nature, the wonders of sci- ence, moral precepts from clergy, parents, and teachers. We are all daily receiving and taking from those about us. May you, in your turn, be inspired to pass these gifts on, As you enter adult life, you will have greater opportunities to give to others, to lead them to share in the accumulated blessings of the ages, The successes you attain will be the more en- joyable as you give of yourself. Sincerely, Walter N, Nackoney To the Class of June l967: Center: Wherever you go, whatever you do, our best wishes go with you, The years you have spent with us will long be remembered. Each one of you has left his mark at Olney High School. Your achievements in grades, athletics, and student activities have combined to make Olney a better school. Our only regret is for the small percentage who fal- tered in the race. May you have the courage, perseverance, and wisdom to shape a happy future. We, who remain here, hope and pray for your success. Sincerely, lsadore Abrams To the Class of June l967: Next: ln dedicating your yearbook to the theme of Peace, you have chosen wisely, For centuries men have yearned for peace and nations have sought to preserve it, Yet history shows us that men and nations have never succeeded in achieving an enduring peace, The graves of thousands of youths who have died in their countries' wars are mute re- minders of the tragic consequences of the failure of nations to exist peaceably with one another. Peace will come when nations learn to compromise their differences, to understand each other's aims and aspirations, and to encourage people-to-people friendship. Men, too, what- ever their creed, color, or economic status, must learn to live in harmony with one another, Only then can there be hope of peace abroad and peace at home. May every one of you, the members of the Class of June l967, by your own example, advance the cause of Peace. Sincerely, Jack A. Wapen 13
