TEDICA TION When Wxlham Penn planned Ph1ladelph1a he scrupulously rncluded among hrs many c1v1c lmprovements the fulfillment of a fond hope He set as1de four areas 1n varrous corners of the c1ty F ranklln Logan Rlttenhouse and Washlngton Squares as places where one could relax and escape from the darly rush small spots of green for the cultural and recreatronal enyoyment of all the crtrzens of Phrladelphra These squares places of tranqurhty and serenrty rema1n even today 1n the mrdst of a bustllng and expandmg metropol1s whrch has extended far beyond Penns modest plans Our four years at Olney may be compared ID many ways to the crty of Phrladelphla ln whlch we have worked and played Perhaps we were preoccupred w1th self rmprovement 1m patlent and eager to develop perhaps we forgot to take advantage of our own personal spots of green to pause and reflect on our actrons Where do we go from here?
