W A , 2 The Cornerstone of Olney High School was laid on Feb. 3, 1931, hy VVilliam Rowen, who was then the President of the Board of Education. At the time of its opening Olney, the city's last word in high schools, was the largest high school in Pennsylvania. This lieautiful building was designed hy Irwin F. Catherine, Superintendent of Pnhlie School Buildings, with the intent to create an environment at once stimulating and conducive to education. 4 E.

1 , S is if 'S 55 1 'h.,L- The church-like Gothic architecture of the building can clearly be observed in this View of the interior. Not only is Olney a beautiful building, but it is also an unusually well equipped school. There are two spacious, well ventilated and completely equipped gymnasiums, shops with the latest mechanical and electrical equipment, a large lunchroom, an excellent kitchen, and an auditorium which seats 1,800 people.
