.1 l 5 , l vw efildult School Olney High School Evening School was opened early in the 1940's as a community project initiated by the Big Four Fathers Association and the Greater Olney Community Council in cooperation with the Board of Education authorities. Its course included art, cooking, current events, dramatics, dress- making, electrical work, typing, woodwork, hobby crafts, income tax, machine shop, music, orchestra, and physical and health activities. Since then it has widened its influence by the introduction of many other courses including science, American citizenship classes, and others.

'N Nils I H., N ' in ,Q I if gi sr l . 0' u 'K is Vltbletic Field The Camblos,' Mansion or g'RavensWood',, home of the Hunsicker family for more than fifty years, was torn down to make room for the Olney Athletic Field. After five years of work by the VV. P. A., the field was opened on Sep- tember 30, 1939, with a grand community pro- gram presented by the Big Four Fathers Asso- ciation Which had a large part in this project. Today the athletic field is surrounded by a wire fence and fine trees. Recently a new sound system was installed to be used at football games. On the Held are a modern brick club house, granite stands capable of holding about 3,000 people, a mile and a quarter track, a foot- ball Held. two concrete tennis courts, a hockey field. a soccer field and a baseball Held. ln use all seasons of the year. this field has provided countless hours of pleasure for all stu- dents, ln the spring, and fall of the year it is used by both boys' and girls' gym classes for outdoor sports. Daily, members of the various teams can be seen practicing for the time when they will defend Olney against rival schools. At the gameg the field stands are often filled to capacity as th? student body turns out in large numbers to root for the fine teams. 16
