HAINES Have you ever been lost in a wilderness of trees, hills, and streams -no trails, no highways, no buildings, not even a compass-nothing but the slanting sun to give you a hint of direction? Then, suddenly, when surroundings seemed most fearful, you emerged into the grateful security of a familiar scene, took your bearings, and moved toward home and safety! As you recall many experiences in Olney High which developed maturity, brought poise, assurance and better judgment, it is my wish for you that habits of truth, honor and resolution formed here may become a guiding compass through the confusion of the future, and like Alice in Wonderland, you may now meet each new experi- ence with confident curiosity, and a faith that all will be Well. Her cheerful smile and pleasant hello is remem- bered by all who seek her services. Her untiring efforts have guided us during our memorable stay at Olney. Our gratitude to her cannot be aptly expressed in words. Her only reward may lie in knowing that she is helping us along in life. WVhenever we, the class of january think back to our years at Olney High School, we will surely remember Dr. Greenwood, the Vice Principal. At some time in the last three years every one of us has either come in contact with him personally in search of advice or seen him during one of his visits to a classroom. The sincere advice and valuable suggestions of Dr. Greenwood have aided in many ways not only us students but also Olney High School. 13
