The class officers were elecfed and amiable Bob Beiswenger became presi- denf. Ola Poffer, Rufh Ziegler and Harry Schaeffer became vice presidenf. secrefary and freasurer. respecfively. There was an I IB dance in fhe Girls' Gym--fhe firsf so- cial evenf in fhe hisfory of fhe class. This affair helped a greaf deal fo bring fhe members of fhe class fogefher. June '34 made ifs appearance wi+h Elizabefh Karff as Edifor-in-Chief and became an impor- Ianf facfor in Ihe class. In fhe fall of '33 Ihey refurned and hav- ing finished fheir discussions of IasI' sum- mer's boyfriend, and my sunfan, fhe class re-elecfed Bob and began anofher ferm of progress. Ola Poffer, Rufh Ziegler and Arfhur Whifehair were fhe ofher of- ficers. The class paper again appeared under fhe supervision of Irving Penn and lhe sfaff of Ihe Trojan was chosen. Penn was also elecfed fo edif fhe work of 'rhe Record Book. A IZA dance was held which was successful. This was due in a grea+ many ways 'ro fhe Commiflee, headed by Chairman Bill Welfe. Rufh Ziegler, fhe secrefary of fhe class, was honored a+ fhis Time by being elecfed fo fhe vice-presi- dency of fhe school. Lasf buf by no means Ieasf. 'Iheir picfures were faken and whaf sad faces were exhibifed while lhey lived fhrough fhose anxious momenfsl And whaf fun fhey had when fhe picfures refurnedl They were convinced fhaf fhe Trojan would be a miniafure rogue's gallery. As a finale 'ro The ferm. The Prom was held af fhe Old York Road Counfry Club. Those were anxious momenfs when Ihe young man who had spenf his allowance waifed breafhlessly fo hear pop give his consenf fo advanc- ing fhe fwo dollars. The commiffee, headed by Arr Nibling deserved much praise. Ray Duffy's orchesfra provided fhe music and fhe dance was successful, bofh financially and socially. February '34 found fhe class beginning fheir Iasf ferm. Whaf a fime fhey had fill- ing ouf +heir quesfionnaires for fhe Troian. If required much fhoughf. This was fheir Iasf chance fo render some service fo fhe school which would always be re- membered. Again fhe class paper was dis- fribufed. This ferm if appeared wifh Lew Greene as Edifor-in-Chief. Earnesf work was begun on +he parf of rhe Troian sfaff. Class meefings were held every week, pre- sided over by Bob Beiswenger and made enioyable by I'he wil' of Mr. Johnsfon. The officers remained fhe same as fhe previous ferm. Bill Welle and Bob Dobie were elecfed as I2B Senafors and John Ballbach became fhe presidenf of Ihe school. Now if is hisfory-fhe hisfory of fhe class of June '34. Very soon many familiar faces will be absenf from fhe corridors. We wonder if 'rhey will be missed. The fufure lies ahead. If was difficulf for fhese sfudenfs fo adiusf fhemselves fo a differenf school, a building in which one mighf easily lose oneself. They were discouraged because fhey had been forced fo leave fhe schools where fhey had made many friends. As fhe ferrns wenf by fhey began fo feel fhaf Olney was iusf one fine place. The boys who had scoffed before af fhe school where girls were allowed began fo sing ifs praises. The girls became acguainfed wifh some of fhose queer fellows from a boy's high, and also lauded fhe school. Clubs were rapidly being formed, and fhere was ample opporfunify for one fo rneef friends affer school. In fhis manner fhe boys and girls came fo lcnow each ofher beffer.
