M. Hanson as supervisor. This department is very active and has from 55 to 75 students enrolled, Each is entitled to make as m any projects as he can during the school year. Projects consist of the useful home objects. This d ep artm ent has devoted much of its time to the improvement of the school, While the student pays for the material he uses, the shop and tools are furnished by the s c hool. Since the year 1947, 917 projects have been completed. Executing intricate formations that thrilled football c r ow d s, the band denionstrated an ability on the field equal to that of its con- cert performances. Trips out of town for the band include an excursion to the Mid- western Homecoming, to a district b a s ketb all game and other various trips, Most of the latter p a rt of this year has been donated to con- cert workg whereas the first part was donated entirely to march- ing and the playing of football mu sic. A high-light of this years work is the t rip to the lnterscholastic Le ag u e Meet at Denton, Texas the lattei-part of April. Director R. L.
