Among some of those returning are Don Harder, last year's regular pitcher, Bob Smetana, a terrific backstop, and many other promising boys. We expect to get spring training into full swing shortly after the close of the basketball season. This will consist of short pepper sessions and a gradual warming up of the pitchers. Most of last year's football players will be out for track or baseball so we should have a good looking team. Among the veterans returning to Varsity are Walter Ren- ton, Bill Hecker, Glenn Weber, Charles Gall, George Lemel, Walt Brooks, Don Harder, Phil Neitenbach, Bill Hall and Bill Rutz. Most of the school track records were set only five or six years ago. The latest record to be established was in 1948 when Leonard Brooks threw the shot put 39 feet. Dick Bislich holds the most records for Olmsted Falls . Here they are: 100 yard dash 10.5 seconds 1946 Mile run 4:50.5 seconds 1945 B80 yard relay 1:35.19 seconds 1944 fholds record with three othersj Mlle relay 4:01 .0 seconds 1944 2 mile relay '9:09.0 seconds 1945 George Payne holds tour other records for our school: 440 yard dash 56.8 seconds 1945 880 yard run 2:08.0 seconds 1945 Mile relay 4:01.0 seconds 1944 2 mile relay 9:09.0 seconds 1945 This year practice will start soon after the close of basketball season, and we will participate in several track meets this spring. 1950, we hope, will es- tablish many new records for Olmsted Falls.
