joofgaf .jvligAAgAf5 We played our first game of the season with Berea Qnon-leaguej, and although Walter Brooks intercepted a pass and gained 30 yards, we lost the hard-fought contest 14-0. Next we played North Olmsted for our first league game, Bill Kolodey run- ning 53 yards for our only touch- down in the game that ended 33-6. Walter Brooks and Bill Kolodey scored TD's and .Tack Hecker kicked 2 extra points to spearhead our 14-6 triumph over Strongsville. In our only other non-league game, we whitewashed Elyria 25-0. Bill Hec- ker, Bob Rooney, and Bill Kolodey 121 scored the touchdowns, and Jack Hecker kicked one extra point. West- lake-turned the tables on us by whip- ping us 32-6 in our next game. Our score came when Bill Kolodey inter- cepted a pass and ran 102 yards for a touchdown. We bounced back by beating Brooklyn 6-0 as Bill Kolodey again intercepted a pass and raced 83 yards for our score. Bill Kolodey scored our only TD in the North Royalton game which we lost 14-6. However, this was one of the most exciting games of the season. Allan Guenther intercepted a pass but was unable to score as was the rest of the team as Bay Villiage triumphed 14 -0. Allan Guenther and Bill Kolodey were named to the All-Star team of the west county league and each has received a trophy.

gaffgefgdj 1949-50 Basketball Review The final curtain of the Olmsted Falls 1949-50 basketball season has fallen. The Bulldogs, having a record of ten wins and nine losses of which seven of the wins and five of the losses were in league games, ended in a third place tie with Brooklyn. Our first three games ended in defeats. The first two losses were nonleague games with Columbia and Berea. Then North Royalton defeated us with a score of 49-42. Finally our team began to click and we handed Strongsville their first defeat 43-34, and then went on to beat Bay 44-37. Doom struck as we met Westlake and lost by 11 points, 47-36. During the brief pause of Christmas vacation the Bulldogs embarrassed the Alumni 63-41. Our next game was allotted to Brooklyn, but the squad came back to beat our rival North Olmsted 45-30. The next two games were nonleague in which we bowed to Orange but defeated Elyria Catholic. This ended the first half of the season with five victories and six losses. We began our second half with four victories. North Royalton defeated us and then came a tight game with Strongsville which ended 33-30. Our next win was over Bay and then in a nonleague game , Elyria Catholic was again dismissed. Again came gloom as we met Westlake and the mighty West High. With high hopes our boys met and defeated Brooklyn 54-27 and journeyed on to North Olmsted. Besides the victory in this game there was great excitement when Jack Hecker scored 23 points to break our schoo1's record held by his brother. Jack totaled 315 to top the record Norb had, 309. In the tournaments, which were played at the B. W. Field House, we faced defeat at the hands of Cuya- hoga Heights, 31-20. All through the season our boys had undying spirit which is necessary for any team to be great.
