Music Department Music is an asset to living. The department ot music offers a choice of three majors: church and choral music, performance, and education. The non-majors can take private lessons or become involved in one of the choirs or ensembles. The addition of two full-time faculty members has strengthened the music department. Plans for the new fine arts building are underway. 28

■ Education Department The Department of Education allows the student to major in teacher education and become acquainted with aspects of mental and physical health, library sciences, and professional education. The methods courses within the Education Department provide the student with opportunities to work in school situa- tions and learn to form productive teacher-student relationships. In the fall semester, an Illinois official education team visited the college to evaluate Oli- vet ' s Tenth Year Report of the Teacher Education Program for continued approval. A.
