This year we have an exchange student named Michela Ricciarelli visiting us from Milan, Italy. She is seventeen years old and living with Sue Tobias and Sue's family until after graduation in June. Michela said the biggest difference between Italy and the United States is that school in Italy runs Monday through Saturday from 8:15 AM to 1:15 PM. Also, teachers are the ones who change classes, not the students. She said the average amount of time she spent on homework in Italy was five hours a night. The most interesting thing she found over here was corn on the cob, which she loves, and will miss when she returns to Italy. 22 OLI LEAVES GERMANY TO LEARN A NEW CULTURE Who, me? This year's senior class was the first to go on an overnight trip. The class spent their first day at Busch Gardens. About five minutes away from the park was a Howard Johnson which braved to take on the senior class. The next morning the group traveled to King's Dominion and spent the day. The tired, sunburned group arrived back at OVHS at midnight Sunday May 17, 1987. It was a successful trip that both chaperones and students enjoyed.
