Y BOARD OF EDUCATION John M. Woods, President Robert L. Davis, Secretary Chester F. Clee Harry B. Hunter Thomas R. Olson George L. Purdy Mrs. Gretchen Buckley Mrs. Mary S. Hannigan Edward H. Baresel R. V. Koebelin, Clerk Genevieve M. Dinsmore, Asst. Clerk A Message To Seniors You know, as we do, that you are graduating into a troubled world. We hope that your years in the Olean schools and particularly your last four years in high school, have equipped you in some measure to cope with the problems you will face. We will watch your progress with interest and confidence. We feel that you have developed attitudes, habits, standards of conduct, and a feeling of tolerance toward your fellow man that will insure you future happiness. Our pride in your accomplishments is a reflection of the pride of your parents, your teachers, and your community. If a desire for further education and for accepting the responsibilities which you will face in our democratic system has been instilled in you here, we will be happy. We graduate you with our very best wishes. JOHN M. WOODS President of the Board of Education Page Nine

E. H. HOELDTKE Principal ADMINISTRATION To Seniors . . The opportunity to attend high school is a privilege which has been extended to the youth of our great nation. Students profit in proportion to their application in various assignments, 1n participation in extra-curricular programs, in leader- ship among their fellow workers, and in their desire for excellence. Olean offers this opportunity as a better preparation for a more useful life. V It is with hope and confidence and yet some fearfulness that we send the class of 1951 on its way-companions to so many former classes of O.H.S. We are fearful of the world we send you out to. I-Iave we prepared you for it? Or, can we prepare you for it? X'Ve hope so. And, as always, we will have the greatest con- Hdence in you, our youthful companions of the past four years. M. W .SMITH Vice Principal 'e Ten
