Peanuts, popcorn, hot dogs, and pink lemonade were order of the day. Ah-yes, the Circus Dance! . . . Some of us saw Columbia University and Ybzzmrmzi' flve W'orld and were initiated into cover charges. What else but LYME LIGHTS first convention trip! . . . A few freshmen first attempted varsity sports . . . We first became acquainted with those hicks from Hamburg. In '44 - '45: Midnight was seen at noon 4- and in all our classes , . . janet looked ravishing as Clementine , the star of Salad Dayr . . . Bruised shins and dislocated fingers ushered in the first field hockey games at O.L.I-I.S .,.. The cheerleaders welcomed Pete and jonsie into their ranks. In '45 - '46: Old Lyme students became politicians for the first Student Council election in several years . . . We celebrated the arrival of our dazzling class rings . . . Everyone clamored for a chance on the main feature of our Christmas Bazaar-Mrs. Saunder's cake . . . Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters appeared on the scene at the Club '47 .... Washington shuddered at the arrival of 24 representatives of Old Lyme - and celebrated their departure . . . Old Lyme moved South for a few hours during the Minstrel . . . We captured the beauty of Hawaii in our junior Prom . . . Everyone turned out for the comedy, Early to Bed and Early to Rite. In '46 - '47: We gave our second Christmas Bazaar which was as successful as the first . . . The Snowball meant the last dance of !46 . . . Class pictures caused great squeals of surprise . . . The Old Lamp Lighter provided the theme for the Senior Reception . . . The Yearbook was our main problem . . . Commencement was still twenty-four hours away.
