The Lyme Lzght The Lyme Ligbtf which has been in circulation since Octo- ZX, ber, 1941, is the first newspaper Old Lyme High School has ever produced. It is not only edited by the students, but also published on a rotary duplicating machine. Several experiments were made with the production of the paper, starting with a magazine every six weeks, until the present method of weekly publication was reached. Miss Mary Walsh has been the sole adviser of The Lyme Ligbtf' and has carried staff members through in many a crisis in which the immediate production of the paper seemed almost impossible. XJ SEATED: Miss Mary Walsh, adviser, Randolph Brown, Jean DeWolf, Doris Kotzan, Phyllis Leet. Isabel Handy, director, Walter Mazer, James Noyes, Barbara Monrce, Eleanor Maynard, Jack Speirs, Paula Zimmerman, prompter. Senior Play Cost Jean DeWolf, Vernon Wood, Thomas Bonetti, Miss The Arrival of Kitt The annual senior play was presented in the school auditorium February 27. Miss Isabel Handy, who coached the play, deserves much credit for the success of the production. The play centered around Tommy Bonetti, who did a superb job in his dual role of a young athlete and the actress, Kitty. Sam, a negro porter, was portrayed by jim Noyes, who with his lanky body and drawling speeches, brought out more humor than was in the script. Although illness caused Walt Mazer to miss several rehearsals, he came through splendidly, acting the part of a pompous bachelor. Chick W'ood again showed his ability by playing Ting, a go-getting bellboy. By virtue of his portrayal of a social parasite, athlete john Speirs can now add dramatics to his list of achieve- ments. Genevieve Firgeleski enacted the part of a prim French maid, and everything went smoothly until Judy, Mr. Thorp's dog, started going in the wrong direction. Aunt jane, an antiquated old maid of fifty, was played by jean DeW'olf, in high-laced boots. Barbara Monroe's amusing characterization of Kitty furnished much laughter and excitement, and jane, a sweet young thing, was capably depicted by Eleanor Maynard. DRAMA T I CS CL UB FIRST ROW: H.
