Sharon Bagley 54 The Junior Class presented a drama this year which showed typical human emotions as a jury of twelve people had to decide the fate of an accused murderer. The jury was made up of older people, younger people, people quick to judge others on first sight, people with compassion, people who are very strong- minded, and others yet who are very quickly persuaded by others’ opinions. But through the will of one person who absolutely would not sentence this man to a charge of guilty, the jury was forced to remain, in which time the real murderer was apprehended. 56 On May 11, the Junior class presented Stairway to Heaven.” The delicious banquet and beautifully decorated dance were enjoyed by many Juniors and Seniors and their guests. The evening was brought to an end by an enjoyable night of swimming and bowling at Voyager’s Inn. The Senior Class Officers from Ross High School spent a day at Old Fort this year and the visit was returned when the Old Fort Sr. Class Officers enjoyed a day at Ross. One of the many Student Council activities was an officers’ exchange. Student Council Officers from Fostoria H.S. came to visit Old Fort after our officers spent a day at their school. mmrne aaar aaar aaar aaar aaar aaar aaar aaar aaar aaar aaar iaaar aaar iaaar sea aaar iaaar iaaar iaaar iaaar iaaar ■ apaa iaaar iaaar i:V: ••III At one of our many assemblies this year, Paul Riehm and Nick Heilman received their Eagle Scout Award. On her first stop she comes along the people responsible for restoring the Old Fort.” It is architect JOHN LONGBRAKE explaining blueprints to the car¬ penter MIKE DRUCKENMILLER. Most of the wood for this project was furnished by the PRIDDY Lumber Co. and delivered by truckdriver BRAD OMLOR, CHUCK’S only employee. As we slowly proceed on, we notice a young millionaire bachelor MIKE TERRY talking to professional pole vaulter GARY FRY and Sports Illustrated photographer CHRIS APPLEBAUM about the outcome of this year’s World Olympics. After giving our congratulations to the many record breaking vaults of Gary, we heard music filling the air. Most of the music is coming from the drummer JIM ELLIS along with accompaniment from guitarist DAN OAKLEAF. They are preparing for their next live performance in Detroit. Being close to dinner time, we decided to go to the Kohlenberg Italiano Restaurant owned and operated by LARRY KOHLENBERG, which is well known for its outstanding salad bar prepared by DEBRA MARSHALL. While we were waiting for our food, we were suddenly faced with a blackout and a big puff of smoke. Knowing the seriousness of this situation, we called for master minded electrician MONTE HILL, to find the problem. In a matter of minutes he had the problem solved and things were back to normal and our meal was on the way. After thanking Larry for the fine meal we proceeded out the door and ran into the two hard working farmers, NICK HEIL¬ MAN and RON FORTNEY, responsible for feeding our fast growing community. Crossing the railroad tracks heading south downtown, we noticed flames coming out of the Gas Plant operated by the chemical engineer BILL HUMES who brings many design problems to mechanical engineers CLAY FOREMAN and MIKE PUFFENBER- GER. As we look off in the other direction, we see the Pleasant Valley Mall operated by Playboy DALE BENDER. Hardly believ¬ ing my eyes, I decided to stop off at the nearby optometrist only to see eye doctor VERNON TERRY talking to his receptionist BRENDA BINKLEY. After talking to them for a while we decided to move on to see some more of the Mall. We had only walked for a little while before we came upon a photography store run by DENA STIGER. After having our picture taken, we journeyed on to an unusual looking store. We watched STEVE BAUER, a professional barber, trying to make a living cutting hair. After waving at Steve, we turned to find DEBBIE BARTO helping deprived children put their money in a bubble gum machine. Coming close to one end of the Mall, we smelled the fragrance of flowers in the air coming from the greenhand greenhouse operator MARCIA BRUTCHER as she was hard at work cutting and drying her plants. Holly worried about the time and decided that we better keep on moving in order to get her hot news on the press. Turning to the other end of the Mall, we decided to go get a snack at the Hot Sam Shop. This shop was owned and operated by MARSHA HOKE who was passing out free samples of her fresh warm pretzels made by NANCY OAKLEAF with her special recipe. Tak¬ ing advantage of something free in this day and age seemed quite unusual but we decided to stand in line with everybody else. As we got closer, we noticed KATHY BILLER, GERALYN HILL, CATHY HILL, JANE STOVER, and CHRIS MOLYET talking about the many problems of working along with their boss BRENT BINKLEY, Art and Graphic Editor of the Free Press. In the other corner we saw professional racehorse driver MELANIE BURKS talking to BARB BROWN, beautician and hair salon oper¬ ator, about her next hair appointment for the coming Little Brown Jug Race. Leaving the Mall in the middle of the afternoon seemed to be just about the right time to hear one of the country’s sonic booms produced by pilot BRAD NEWMAN getting ready to land at the airport nearby with JOHN WISE controlling most of the air traffic. Since we had never been at the newly built airport terminal building, we decided to go take a tour. Watching the jumbo jets taxiing in, one of them happened to pull up to the gate right beside us. The first one to open the door was Pan Am’s airline stewardess CHERI WEIKER, greeting the people as they got off the plane. Next off the plane was DANIEL AUBE, yacht captain of the S.S. Independence, who readily agreed that flying is quicker than his little sailboat. Then came MIKE KLAISS, PAT CLEVELAND, and KIM WISE home for leave from the service. Stepping down from the plane comes famous world wide known Interior Decorator SUE FLJNSTON followed by CON¬ NIE WATKINS, the traveling teacher who’s just finished her world wide tour. Finally the last two out were salesman LARR l SMITH and veterinarian PAUL RIEHM who seemed to be behind times even in school. After getting chased out of the restricted area by guard VALENTINE MARTINEZ, we decided it was time to go back into the terminal. Walking through to the exit and going back to the newspaper agency, we happened to see AL ECKEL, mechanic, on a service call. Well, being that we had inter¬ viewed about 49 former students from the 1974 Senior Class, our newspaper seemed to be filled with a lot of hot gossip and news. Anyhow, congratulations to all.
