r SUPERINTENDENT MR. ROGER E. GODDARD, Superintendent of Old Fort School, has been here for four years. He has a B.S. in Ed¬ ucation from Defiance College, and a M.S. in Education from Indiana University. He has taken much additional work toward a Ph.D. Degree from Toledo University. Mr. Goddard’s name appeared in Who’s Who for the year 1966-1967. An honor he so well deserves. Many improvements and additions have been made to the Old Fort School Physical Plant as well as to the Curriculum at Old Fort School. The old building has been completely overhauled both outside and inside. A well-planned curriculum and an excellent program has been instituted by him. A very good science and mathematics program has been established. Due to Mr. Goddard’s excellent guidance, planning, and hard work, Old Fort School continues to hold a very important and respected place with all schools in the surrounding territory. The Class of 1967 expresses a hearty “thank you” to Mr. Goddard for his foresight and guidance. 7

BOARD OF EDUCATION The Old Fort Board of Education meets the first Monday night of each month. The problems for these men to solve become more complex each year. A cup of coffee, rolls, and doughnuts help much to stimulate and sharpen their think¬ ing. Besides the Board of Education’s monthly meetings this year; additional meetings have been held with Green Springs Board of Education and Bettsville ' s Board of Education. Due to the Purdy Report reorganization is being considered. Mucy repair work and equipment have been bought this year. New tables and chairs were placed in the study hall to replace the old desks. The same was done in the Language Room, Science Department, and Commercial Room. A trampoline, wrestling and tumbling mats and lockers were bought for the Physical Education Department. All Equipment Purchases and Capital Improvements for the school year 1966-1967 cost approximately $28,385. About $5, 000 of this will be paid from Capital Improvements. Old Fort School Community has been very loyal in supporting the decisions of the Board of Education. For this the members of the Board are grateful and appreciate your trust in them. Each Board Member and the Clerk devote many hours and thoughts willingly and freely to try to make Old Fort School one of the best schools in Seneca County. 6

PRINCIPALS MRS. HELEN M. NEWMAN Mrs. Newman has a B.S. from Bowling Green State University. She also has many hours of additional work from Ohio State University, Heidelberg, and correspondence work from Indiana University. For twenty-four years she has been Principal of Old Fort High School. She is one of the few women high school principals in the state of Ohio. Besides the duties involved as Principal, she also teaches bookkeeping, two seventh grade classes of Mathematics, and has two study halls. She is advisor for the Junior Class, Student Council, Annual, Cheerleaders, Honor Society, and is director of the One- Act Play. MR. LARRY SHELT Mr. Shelt has a B. A. from Heidelberg College and has taken additional work at Toledo University for a Master’s Degree. He was Elementary Principal and taught two classes of Seventh Grade English the first semester. This was Mr. Shelt’s third year at Old Fort School. During the summer months, Mr. Shelt also directed the Migrant School and the Remedial Reading Program, besides teaching an English class himself. Old Fort School has become quite well-known for its program for migrant children. The English and reading programs have become quite popular. All of this is due to the excellent guidance of Mr. Shelt. The Elementary Program during the year has been very well planned and carried out. Old Fort School will suffer a great loss at the resignation of Mr. Shelt; but we all wish him much success in his new job as Educational Consultant for Follett Publishing Company. X
