.Mafory Off! fluff ,SZAOJ Foxtown was the first Old Fort School. It was located where Joseph Depinet now lives. It burned July 4, 1885 asa result of fireworks. The Old Fort Special School was erected in 1876 where Harold Diment now lives. School was carried on here until 1917. The first step toward our present school building was a bond issue which passed in 1915. Three injuctions held up construction for eighteen months. More classroom area was needed in 1931. The building which is now the cannery was used as an agricultural depart- ment. In 1937 and 1938 it was used as classroom area for the fifth and sixth grades. A school cafeteria was started in 1933. It has run for six- teen consecutive years. The first addition to the school was started in 1937. This added seven classrooms anda new gymnasiurn and auditoriurn. The second addition to the school in 1948 added a special music department and an addition to the shop. By Joyce Heilman 2
