Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. — Gibran p Mr. P. W. Greer — a new school and a new home. iid MAE i He a H Ae sa iy Y MH cee oe nate a ty The old must constantly give way to the new. 125 Onward to the future Day is done... Farewell to you and the youth | have spent with you. It was but yesterday we met in a dream. You have sung to me in my aloneness and | of your longings have built a tower in the sky. But now our sleep has fled and our dream is over, and it is no longer dawn. The noontide is upon us and our half waking has turned to a fuller day, and we must part. If in the twilight of memory we should meet once more, we shall speak again together and you shall sing to me a deeper song. And if our hands should meet in another dream, we shall build another tower in the sky. — Gibran Poignant memories are Present as | write these closing lines to the 1971 ARROWHEAD. The Seniors can remember vividly many events which have occured in the Past twelve years. As editor, | would hope that this edition of the ARROW- HEAD will help sustain these memories of Old Fort High School. Certainly, we as individual members of a class _ will never be able to visit Old Fort High, roam the hall, watch the Redskins roll to victory, or visit with favorite teachers — the high school will no longer exist. Congratulations to those who will attend the new school, Make the most of the oppor- tunities offered to you. Take with you the “spirit of Old Fort’ and use it to make the new school the best in the state. In closing, | should like to thank all the members of the annual 128 Staff, who worked diligently to make this the best book ever; the faculty, who were tolerant of our interruptions and ag- grevations; the merchants and industries, who helped with the finances; and to all the students, who make a yearbook Possible. | would like to especially thank Mary Rhinehardt and Mrs. Marston, who had _ the patience to put up with me for 128 Pages.
