Class History Twelve years ago, leaving the shelter and security of our homes, we embarked on a new phase in our lives, our school career. Little did we know that this was the beginning of many varied opportunities. Then, all we could think of was playing, meeting strange people, and learning our ABC's. That first year passed very quickly. After vacation we began our second year on the road to a better education. We learned new things that we hadn't had the year before, our whole outlook began broadening. Years went by and we met with newer and greater responsibilities than we had every known before. We were always learning something different and it seemed that we wouldn't have room in our little minds to sotre up all the knowledge we were taking in. However, we managed from one year to the next, and then we began the final years of what is said to be the happiest years of our lives. ' We're big now! We're freshmen in high school! That's how we felt, and we thought we would show everyone just how grown-up we were. To our sorrow and amazement our dreams were smashed by the one and only, ML. Greer. He convinced us we weren't as smart as we thought we were. But we didn't let this stop us, we came through that year victorious. We're a step higher this year, we're sophomores. Things ran rather smoothly this year under the guidance of Mrs. Shiflet. We accomplished what we had started out to do. . .pass and go on to our Junior year. We started our Junior year off with a bang. We began preparing ourselves for a very big occasion...the Junior-Senior Banquet. We had various projects to help meet expenses for this occasion. Again this year we had Mrs. Shiflet to lead and guide us through the struggle of raising money and many other things which came up. Also, we gave a splendid performance in the Junior play entitled Here Comes Charlie. This was a great experience for all of us, partly because it taught us to speak before a crowd of people. Finally we became Seniors. Things looked bright, yet they were somewhat sad for we knew that we would soon be leaving the school friends we had made through the years. However, there were happy occasions which we shall never forget. Among those were We Shook The Family Tree . . .our Senior play, our trip to Washington, the banquet and the one thing we looked forward to most. . .9raduation. At the close of this school year we know that we will be undertaking things which inevitable face everyone as it has always been in the past. We look forward with some trepidation, for we know that, though our teachers have tried to prevent it, we often played when we should have worked. - We have enioyed these years to the utmost and in our minds will be the chenished memories of our dear old school days.
