CLASS PROPHECY Miami, Florida August I2, 1966 Dear Jean, l have iust returned from a visit at Old Fort and I thought you might be interested in knowing what all our old classmates are now doing. l was glad to hear of the success June has had in her secretarial career. lt must be very exciting to work for such a prominent lawyer as Bill Padgham. You probably have read in the papers about Kimball Miller's great works in Scientific Developments. He has discovered, Why the man in the moon smiles. lt's a very interesting fact to leaml Bob Wilson and Anne Trexler are co-staring in MGM's latest movie, The Cape. lf you ever have the chance you should see it. Tommy Parker, Jimmy Morris, Bill Robinson, and Ray Raffield were always singing duringclasses. You will be interested to know that Harold Vess has signed them to a twenty year contract on his, Talk of the Town T.V. program. The first half of the program is devoted to, The Four Kings, which is titled, Smile Gf you think you canl With Us. Pat Kelley teaches thefirst grade in one of the largest private schools in southern California. Bette Parker and Frances Smith are both nurses at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. J.C. Allison is coaching basketball at Flordia Women's College. His team, The Wildcats, is the only undefeated team in the South. Don Lyda was recently named the most valuable professional basketball player in the nation. lf you remember, Frances Garrison was extremely interested in 4-H work. She is now the president of the National 4-H Unit. Her headquarters are in Washington, D.C. Elsie Faye Dalton is head librarian atalarge library in South Carolina. Hazel Pittman and Dorothy Croom own a small but successful drive-in restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee. Guy Kelly and Norris Parker combined their talents and produced that famous T.V. program, That's Our Guy. Katie Silver joined the WAFS and is a first lieutenant. She is presently stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Ruby McPeters and Mary Sue Silver now own and operate the Dutch Grill near Marion, North Carolina. Since they remodeled it, it is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the state. William Griffin was always highly interested in pharmaceutical work. As soon as he finished college, he returned to Old Fort and took over his father's business. The Old Fort Drug Company is now one of the largest and most modern in North Carolina. Shula Padgett operates a beauty shop in Hollywood, California. She has many of the famous movie actresses as customers. Faye Moore is one of her assistants. Carl Farmer is now playing left-field position for the New York Yankees. He always was a great baseball player. Bob Nichols is production managerfor Chrysler,Plymouth Corporation in Detroit, Michigan. For a hobby he makes hot-rod racing cars. Ray Lewis and Donald Lavender decided to try their luck at farming. They own one of the largest and most productive wheat farms in Kansas. Henry Sanders own a chain of Esso Service Stations across the United States. He has as his manager James Sawyer. Peggy Piercy became a model for that famous designer of women's bathing suits, Homer Whitesides. Kenneth Hudgins owns a large horse ranch in Houston, Texas. He was always the strong silent type who seemed suited for a quiet life. Mary Lou Padgett is the cashier at the Third National Bank of Omaha, Nebraska. With John Faw as pres- ident you can be sure it is a very prosperous bank. Bob Smith always talked about the army. He is now a second lieutenant in the United States Army. I recently read in the New Yorker that you are discontinuing your job as receptionist for your husband so as to spend more time with your children. He has certainly become a famous dentist in the past few years. I am teaching the third grade here in Miamiwhile m husband a Ma'or in the arm , is stationed in Ja n.
