DEUICHTIUN is 9 x i Nuuh The Seniors of 1950 are proud and happy to dedicate their Annual this year to one of our first grade teachers, Miss Mary Burgin She has been with us many years and 18 known to her puplls s 'Miss hary Miss Mary first attended college at Asheville College, formerly knowr as Normal and Collegiate Institute at Asheville, North Carolina She went to sumrer school at a woman's college in Greensboro North Carolina She taught two years at Westmlnster School Presbyterian Preparatory School in Rutherfordton Courty The rest of her teaching ras been ln the Old Fort School She gave most of us Seniors our start in the first grade and is stlll on the job, giving her best to other young folks She still loves her profession and is just as interested ln it as she was the day she started, vears ago Now as we go out into the unknown, we cannot forget her services to our beloved school We hone we can at least make a start on the road she has traveled for so long The road where we for get selfishne s, greed and jealousy the road where we have cnly love in our hearts and a burn ing desire to serve others and help them start life ln the right direct on, as has Miss Mary Miss Mary wil always have our deepest respect and undying gratitude for being such a grand person .
