ASS IIISTDRY The year of l9hh, the month of Sept, found seven hot rods entered qt the Okobeji drag strip Driving these were Kay Dannatt, Margaret dilliams, Sharon Miller, Shirley Miller, Donivan Sander, Frances Hage dorn, and Larry Mnmm The spring of 'MS Donivan Sander moved to a different drag strip Larry hmmm had an accident and spent some time in the hospital Miss Montag was the track official The fall of 'MS found Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Sharon Mil ler, Shirley Ailler, Beverly Blair, and Frances Hagedorn running their rods at the drag strip with Mrs Lage as the official Beverly Blair Sharon Miller, Shirely Miller, and Frances Hagedorn tuned up their en gines and took off for another drag strip in March The third year at the Okoboji drag strip found Kay Dannatt, Mar garet williams, Jean Johnson, Myrna Olson, and Roger Daugherty enter ed in the drag races Mrs Stockdale was the official The next year found Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Jean Johnson, Myrna Olson, and Roger Daugherty running for the top money with M s Stockdale officiating Joel Moeller rolled in with a hot Ford at the middle of the year and Roger Daugherty moved on to a new drag strip in February of that year The fall of 'MB found Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Jean Johnson Joel Moeller, and Alan Beving in the fifth year of dragging at the Oko boji drag strip, Miss Andersen had the honors that year Alan Beving had pulled in with a hopped Ford from a little track in the country to enter in the drag races to be run that year Edward Thiessen, who was in the big time, had an accident and Lost so much time in the hospital that he came and joined us at the drag strip a little later The sixth year of drag racing found Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Jean Johnson, Joel Moeller, Edward Thiessen, Terry Christensen, and fast 'Merc to try his hand at a small drag strip Miss Feltz was the official The fall of 1950, Terry Christensen decided that this track was too small, so he pulled out for California, which left us with Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Jean Johnson, Joel Moeller, Edward Thies sen, and Alan Beving with Mrs wise as our official Carl Smith start ed the year with us but left in February of '52 when we completed the eighth year at the Okoboji drag strip, we graduated from amateurs to professionals and built dragsters instead of just hopped up stockers Our ninth year found Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Jean Johnson, Joel Moeller, Edward Thiessen, entered for another year of drag racing Merle Froendt rolled up in a worked over Chevy to join us in March that year we had four officials to help us, M Linden, Miss Schweers, and Mrs Dewitt, with M Geertsema as head man Our tenth year found us with four more members, Terry Christensen, was back from California, Dona Nelson drove in from a different drag strip, and Colleen Grim and Lee Grim switched to our Track from Milford's to try out their 'Chevy Special' on a good drag strip M Geertsema M Linden, Mrs, Dewitt, and Mrs Phillips were the officials M s Phillips had a slight accident with her Willys so M s Sackett fin ished the year with her nL1ncoln Still draging at the same track were Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Jean Johnson, Joel Molller, Edward Thiessen, Merle Froendt, and Alan Beving The fall of 'Sh found Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Jean Johnson, Dona Nelson, Colleen Grim, Joel Moeller, Edward Thiessen, Merle Froendt, Terry Christensen, Lee Grim, and Alan Beving Mr McNally as new head man, M Linden, Mrs Dewitt, and M s Miller were the track offi cials M s Miller piled up her Chrysler so M Sandt took over with hi! ford in the middle of the year In spite of the tough competition, nobody had any serious acci dents so they let us keep our licenses for the l2th and final year. The fall of '55 we have just about the same lineup as before. Kay Dannatt, Margaret williams, Jean Johnson, Dona Nelson, Colleen Grim, Joel Moeller, Edward Thiessen, Terry Ghristensen, Merle Froendt, Leslie Brawner, and Alan Beving. Lee had sold his car and enlisted in the Navy ' : o Q 9 O Z, I Alan Beving, Terry Christensen had wheeled in from California with a 0 e 1 0 0 u O 0- 0 '
