Winning essays in the soil conservation contest were written by Lynn Lapp and Glenda Pitc. David Towry and Peggy Grolemund compare note: on their winning essays in the intramural essay contest, entitled Gifts, Mlss Mary Lou Finley admires the Parents Maffazinc Achievement award presented to the KeyNotes, who are directed by Miss Finley. Spelling finalists Dana Collier, Richard Maledon. Paul Gill, Doug Collier. all seventh grafters, are due con- gratulations. OHS champion, Richard. placed eighth among 60,000 Oklahoma spellers. At OHS Paul was second, and the Collier twins tied for third. Gary Long receives his band award from Mr. Guy Carr at Awards Night. In the background are seniors in caps and gowns. Q-WN, .29-

Academic honors are offered at OHS, giving out- standing students recognition in many fields. Awards Night, an annual affair in May, is the of- ficial presentation time for most awards.
