Rough and ready for football next year will be Roger Short as he lifts weights in the physical fitness program at OHS. Boys in the physical education program build their bodies through multiple exercises. Led by the gym assistants the boys do several different physical exercises, and they also play competitive sports to build team training. Tommy Pic-.kard and Jerry Burrows practice their shots during basketball season with the aim of keeping phy- sically fit. Physical education trains minds and bodies for teamwork and sports New lockers with combination locks are a part of the Sailing over the top of Paul Beebe, Robert Sharp, Dewey boys' physical education equipment this year. Assisting with the eye test in girls' gym is Mrs. Don McKinney. Student is Edna Chapman. Parents aided the county health nurse. Girls View films on health and good grooming, first aid, and sportsmanship. County Health nurse spoke to the girls on problems of growing up, showed them films, and followed through on many personal discussions. All girls had an eye test, and were weighed and measured for height. Con- ferences were held With over-and under-weight girls, and with those discovered to have eye trou- ble. On the athletic side, girls participate in bas- ketball, kick-pin, volleyball, tumbling, Physical education girls Phyllis Watson and Patricia Myers ask County Health Nurse Mrs. Omer Holcomb questions following a hygiene talk.
