Standing Field of Social Studies has become more import- ant in the new decade. To aid in understanding the decade, term papers in American history enable students to learn more of their nation's customs, government, and beginning. Students were able to view United Nations meeting on television and follow on maps President Eisenhow- er's trip in South America. Text study is made more interesting through the use of a new opaque projector. Highlight of the year was participation in the White House Committee on Children and Youth with the selection of senior Tom Payne representative to the National Conference in Washington, D. C. Audio Visual department purchased ten new mac- hines, including projectors, recorders, and record players. Other new items of equipment were also added under the NDEA. Student assistants are: Joe Acree, Larry Burd, David Butler, Ricky Crea- son, Dave Ganus, David Henson, James Kova- rik, Don Musgrave and Larry Simmons. Oklahoma youth conference held Gwynn Fleming, and Linda Perry, Steve Rhoades, and Tom Payne attended the national meeting in Six delegates to the at OCU this year are seated. Larry Kelley, standing. Rough and ready for football next year will be Roger Short as he lifts weights in the physical fitness program at OHS. Boys in the physical education program build their bodies through multiple exercises. Led by the gym assistants the boys do several different physical exercises, and they also play competitive sports to build team training. Tommy Pic-.kard and Jerry Burrows practice their shots during basketball season with the aim of keeping phy- sically fit. Physical education trains minds and bodies for teamwork and sports New lockers with combination locks are a part of the Sailing over the top of Paul Beebe, Robert Sharp, Dewey boys' physical education equipment this year. Shown Lee, and Lewis Miller is Kenneth Kelley. Watching are making good use of them are John Hillman, Ronald gym assistants Charles Poulton and Morgan Jones.
