As the world moves forward we must move with it, ahead of it if possible. It is our duty to be prepared to meet the ever-increasing demands of the world. Such a task required much practi- cal knowledge . Classes witness the end of snap courses as the new decade dawns. As moon rockets, summit conferences, and higher standards of living appear as part of our everyday lives, we face a new and greater challenge-to prepare for the dawn- ing decade with hard work and a better educat- lon. -9.- fuu- b y classes ' u

if' I Counseling, testing programs give students guidance in choosing jobs OHS classes have undergone many changes for the coming years, changes which benefit students and teachers alike. New class arrangements, se- paration of the junior high from the senior high, have aided both the newcomers and the older classes. A more modern laboratory gives chem- istry and physics students a better opportunity to learn easily. As we work and learn in these classes, they will help us as we face the Dawn of a Decade. Mr. Lloyd DuBois, guidance counselor, offers advice about careers to Eddie Norton. Y.-'+'! li -X Boys' counselor, Mr. Francis Gates makes out a classroom excuse for Lynn Haslett. Test programs to aid in counseling students for future educational op- portunities include California Achieve ment test given to the eighth graders, Iowa Test of Educational Develop- ment administered to Sophomores, and Oklahoma State Employment Commission test given to the Senior class. Counseling this spring includes con- ferences with each student to plan to meet the new requiremnts for graduation set by the State Board of Education. Sophomores are hard at work taking the Iowa Test of Educational Development, which is given to all tenth grade students each year. ln' -10-
