The OSU campus yearbook, the RED- SKIN? is published to record college days. We have attempted to capture events and faces that students and faculty will want to look back on. The 1975 REDSKIN was edited using six magazine formats. Though the year- book has a different look, a more thor- ough coverage of OSU campus life was achieved. We have enjoyed the extra hours of work and research devoted to the 775 REDSKIN. We feel the yearbook accu- rately gives an overall view of the campus. We added more copy to the yearbook than is usual. In years to come, when you look back on events and faces, the addi- tional copy will help you to remember more completely 1974-75. ice Moreland Duff e Editor

Newsweek 1975 Periscope EXPANSION TO CONTINUE Three big projects should be near completion this fall on campus. Communications Building, University Hospital and the Vet. Med. Diagnostic Laboratory with expenditures near 3.5 million will pro- vide much need facilities to OSU. On the drawing boards include a central chilled water system 0.6 million; University Services Building t$225,000y and a new USDA building 0.2 milliony In the special projects area - a new fire building and an engineering resources center should be started. The Wrestling Hall of Fame is receiving the finishing touches and should bring considerable rec- ognition to Stillwater. EN ROLLMENT TO LEVEL OFF? If OSU follows the nationwise trend, a decrease in enrollment should be expected. However, the figures for 1974-75 showed an increase of nearly 800 students and officials began looking for additional classroom space. Murray and Hanner Halls are being renovated to provide the necessary rooms. Arts and Sciences are to use space in Wentz and Cordell Halls to bring the classroom closer to the students and also, to aid in solving the squeeze. Although Registrar Raymond Girod was cautious about predict- ing enrollment for next year. he said O-State should be nearing the 20,000 figure for on-Campus enrollment. After that, a leveling off could possibly occur. Total enrollment including the Okmulgee and Oklahoma City campuses is around 24,000. Using the full time equivalent statistics from the Oklahoma Regentls office, Oklahoma State University remains the states largest institution for higher learning. 10 Newsweek SOME NEW GUIDELINES The earlier frenzy concerning Title 973 effects on student organiza tions has subsided as the guidelines are about to be distributed. This primarily affects rules about sex discrimination. Fraternitie and sororities were in danger of losing university assistance until rider was attached to the bill exempting them. Honoraries whic exclude students by sex seem to be unaffected if they do no receive university activities fees. However, another federal enact- ment might have some definite effects. The Buckley Amendmen concerns privacy rights of individuals. Thus, in the future, grad points as an exampley cannot be distributed to parents withou approval of the student. STUDENT POLICE FORCE? In an effort to discourage the recent rise in break-ins and rapes, the Residence Halls Association is endorsing a student security force. The idea apparently meets the approval of Safety and Secu- rity officials, too. The plan calls for students equipped with walkie-talkies to police the campus and radio in any suspicious activity. The campus would be divided into three areas of enforce- ment. The proposed project would cost approximately $20,000, divided between salary, uniforms and equipment. 3 HOME 5c l A u: t nu: 2 I w '. . a - .uz a J Eur ' g; M k 7 eT'TT Tin, . , t :35. a
