State Regents The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher education coordinate academic programs and course work for all colleges and universities which are a part of the Okla- homa System for Higher Education. They also prepare and present to the state legislature a unified budget for all of Oklahoma's higher education. Academic Council The Academic Council, consisting of deans, vice-pres- idents and other top academic administrators, is an advi- sory body to the president ofthe university. In the past year it has concerned itself with many different items, including such matters as equal employment opportuni- ties and practices on the OSU campus, student recruit- ment and retention, sick leave policies for faculty and staff personnel, course and program changes, com- mencement activities, the improvement of instruction and of advisement and the establishment of a Communi- ty Development Institute and an Environmental Institute at OSU. Kamm, Mr. Faculty Council The function of the Faculty Council is to be a voice of the general faculty in making recommendations to the president of the university andfor to the Board of Regents. At present the Council has a committee studying and Norman Moore, Dr. Randall Jones, Dean M.R. Lohmann, Dr. E.E. David- son, Dr. James Kirby, Dean Norman Durham, Dr. Robert Clark, Mr. Raymond Girod. making recommendations to the Council concerning tenure and academic status of OSU faculty.
