The club was organized at OSU in i953 as the lingineering Toastmasters, the first student toastmaster club in the l'nited States. It was reorgan- ized in 1959 and is now atliliated with Toastmasters International as a gavel club. During the year, the club hosts other student toastmaster clubs and has a .lrlvisor combined meeting with the Stillwater loastmasters. hrlembership to the club is open to any student in the College of Engineering. Tone IZRSEN Jzlfvisor Industrial Engineers Speak At Group's Bi-Monthly Meetings In Promotion Of Their Scientific And Professional Material Prime objective of the American Institute of lndus- trial Engineers is the aequainting of the young engi- neer With the opportunities and responsibilities await- ing him in his chosen profession. This is carried out in bi-monthly meetings where students are introduced to successful industrial engineers from various facets of the profession. Formation of the club, organized in l9-l9, was to promote the dissemination of scientific and profes- sional material, to have representation in campus ae- tivities, and to help members better their understanding of engineering. On the agenda of yearly activities for ASAE are such highlights as the annual banquet, a faculty-student spring picnic, a Held trip to observe agriculture engi- neering as carried on by industries and the annual Aggie princess contest.
