CHAPTER 1 dmini tration There are certain components that go to make up any great success story. Wisdom, in- tegrity, goodwill and careful direction, to mention just a few. These qualities are sym- bolic of the purposes and planning of Okla- homa State University's governing boards and administrators, and they have played a major role in this university's own success story. Oklahoma State's success story, it may be said, is campus, state, national and international in scope. The fast changing world of today has emphasized the need for a formal college edu- cation, for research in many fields and for higher education.
